He received the invitation on the anniversary of his sobriety, which is also his first child, Skylar's birthday. Ironman Hawaii was the event that, during his addiction, Todd had dreamed of participating in one day and what drove him to begin his path of healthy alternatives. By receiving this invitation, it shows that "With Sobriety, Anything is Possible" and even the smallest seed in the mind of an addict can grow into something great once they get help.
